Weekly summary 45/2020

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 45th week of 2020, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Coronavirus situation.

a) The pandemic situation in general. Nothing relevant to report, the staged desaster proceeds.

b) Impact on the doll business. Demand for dolls remains close to non existiant. The second wave of lockdowns start to delay shipments to EU destinations, similar to the impact of spring lockdowns. We will resume some doll tracking next week to get some numbers on how much shipments are delayed.

2) New arrivals.

This week, four new heads were introduced:

• JY Doll ›Leona‹ head - silicone
• SE Doll ›Elsa‹ elf head (SE no. 022) - TPE
• WM Dolls no. 390 head (Jinsan no. 390) - TPE
• WM Dolls WMS no. 4 head - silicone

New head variants of older heads:

• WM Dolls no. 85 head - silicone variant of Jinsan no. 85

Also, one new body style was released:

• New arrivals: WM Dolls WMS-158/B body style - silicone / 158 cm / 33 kg

3) Business updates, technical updates and dolls in development.

This regular column report about things like noteworthy events and model line changes.

The Guangzhou Adult Show between October 30th and November 1st happened according to schedule. Among the attending companies were Gynoid Tech and JY Doll.

Now, the doll industry is preparing for end of the year sales. Some manufacturers/brands are running special sales events. E.g. Irontech and YL Doll are offering a free 2nd head, SE Doll offers some free accessories, and some other suppliers offer a couple of bucks discount.
