Weekly summary 30/2021

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 30th week of 2021, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Corona situation. a) The situation in general. Demonstrations in France, Germany, the UK, Italy, Greece, and Australia demanded the end of the Corona NPIs, the end of restrictions of fundamental rights, and the investigation of of vaccination damages. Most of these demostrations were forbidden or dissolved by government authorities. Football matches and the Christophe Street Day - in Berlin with 80.000 participants, mostly without masks or physical distancing - have been allowed, but demostrations for freedom and democracy are considered to be a threat for public safety. Whole regions descend into totalitarism.

At the same time, proper Corona treatment is still denied in many countries around the world. With currently 60 studies including 30 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) reporting positive effects of Ivermectin, there is sufficient research proving the efficacy of Covid-19 prophylaxis and treatment protocols like I-MASK+ and MATH+ available. Also, as reported in the Lancet, inhalation of Budesonid can reduce the probability of severe courses of disease by 90%. All of this is clear evidence that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is similarily managable like any other easily transmissible virus. For what plausible reason is treatment and prophylaxis with Ivermectin or Budesonid still suppressed? Is the reason that the Emergency Use Authorization for the Corona vaccines would be void if a treatment with proven medication would exist? #FollowtheScience.

b) Impact on the doll business. Corona does not have any direct influence on the doll business anymore. International transit times for doll shipments as well to destinations in Europe as to destinations in North America have normalized. Though, ripple effects become more and more evident for everybody as there are price increases and supply chain disruptions almost everywhere.

2) New arrivals.

This week, six new heads were introduced:

• 6Ye Premium no. 39 head (= 6Ye no. 39) - TPE
• 6Ye Premium M1 head (= 6Ye no. M1) - silicone
• 6Ye Premium M2 head (= 6Ye no. M2) - silicone
• Irontech Doll ›Betty‹ head - TPE
• Irontech Doll ›Miya‹ head - TPE
• Piper Doll ›Elsa‹ head - silicone

Also, three new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: 6Ye Premium 6Ye-165/C body style - TPE / ~165 cm / ~36 kg
• New arrivals: Irontech IT-159/E body style - TPE / ~159 cm / ~38 kg
• New arrivals: Piper Silicone Action Figure Series SAF-100/B aka ›Elsa‹ by Piper Doll - silicone / ~100 cm / ~11 kg

No new head variants of existing heads were introduced.

Also, since March 14th, 2021, TDF-accredited vendors are no longer allowed to link to "pages that promote dolls that are disallowed at TDF", including their own shop websites. This is a historical milestone. Additionally, numerous pictures by popular photographers like Mizuwali (e.g. Piper Doll) and Mandos (WM Dolls) habe been dissaproved by TDF management.
