Weekly summary 33/2020

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 33rd week of 2020, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Novel Coronavirus situation.

a) The pandemic situation in general. The amount of daily new infections still exceedes a quarter million per day on average.

The number of total confirmed cases has exceeded 21 million; as of today, it is at 21,674,447. So far, 769,957 deaths were recorded.

b) Impact on the doll business. Sitation in a nutshell:

Last week, Fedex has suspended to ship sex dolls temporarily. Most Chinese shipping agents have switched to UPS or DHL Express. This mostly affects drop shipping destinations like the U.S.

From Germany to destinations outside the EU there are still shipping limitations due to limited air freight capacities. This affects Indigo's products and destinations in the U.S. However, other destinations (Germany, within the EU, other Europe) are not affected.

Shipping sex dolls to destinations within the EU is still unchanged. Transit time with 'UPS special line' by rail remains at 50-60 days. Some shipping agents have started to experiment with a 'DHL Express special line'. The latter one is supposed to offer import fees clearance, transportation by air freight, and a traveling time of 1-2 weeks. However, we still need to see if this works.

2) New arrivals.

This week, three new heads were introduced:

• HR Doll ›Daisy‹ head (HR no. 47) - TPE
• SE Doll ›Kiko‹ head (SE no. 010) - TPE
• SE Doll ›Lina‹ head (SE no. 025) - TPE

Also, three new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: Doll Forever D4E-65 - TPE / 65 cm / 3 kg
• New arrivals: SE Doll SE-168/F body style - TPE / height ~168 cm / weight ~41 kg
• New arrivals: SE Doll SE-118/H body style - TPE / height ~118 cm / weight ~28 kg

Last but not least, one new torso was released:

• New arrivals: Doll Forever Torso 55 - TPE / ~55 cm / ~14 kg
