Weekly summary 12/2021

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 12th week of 2021, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Coronavirus situation. a) The situation in general. A so-called 'third wave' babbles through the word, and proven methods for prophylaxis and treatment are still largely ignored. With now 48 studies including 25 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) reporting positive effects of Ivermectin, there is sufficient research proving the efficacy of Covid-19 prophylaxis and treatment protocols like I-MASK+ and MATH+ available. The SARS-CoV-2 virus is similarily managable like any other easily transmissible virus. #FollowtheScience.

b) Impact on the doll business. The first shipments from after CNY holidays were delivered, so luckily some packages travel relatively quickly to EU and US destinations. Heavier and larger shipments travel with a couple of days delay to destinations in North America, but shipments to EU destinations with import fees clearance can take significantly longer (up to 60+ days before CNY holidays). Small items like separate heads can not be shipped with the UPS oder DHL special line services anymore, so we have set up a new method for import fees clearance and freight forwarding (applicable for EU destination). For shipments from Europe to North America, there are still no air freight capacities, so items like Indigo's CWA or stain remover can not be shipped to these destinations.

2) New arrivals.

This week, four new heads were introduced:

• Irontech Doll S1 head - silicone
• Jarliet ›Julie‹ head (朱莉, Zhū lì) - TPE
• JY Doll ›Sherry‹ head - silicone
• SE Doll ›Suzumi‹ head 铃美 / すずみ (= SE no. 103) - silicone

Four new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: Climax Doll AD-158/L body style - TPE/silicone hybrid / ~158 cm / ~44 kg
• New arrivals: Irontech ITSRS-162/I body style - silicone / ~162 cm / ~41 kg
• New arrivals: Jarliet JA-163/F body style - TPE / height ~163 cm / weight ~54 kg
• New arrivals: SE Doll SE-160/B body style - silicone / ~160 cm / ~38 kg

New head variants of existing heads:

• Climax Doll ›Fukada‹ head (= CLM no. 092) - silicone variant
• SE Doll ›Natsuki‹ head (= SE no. 076) aka ›Miki‹ aka ›Yuuki‹ (夕姫) - TPE

No new variants of existing body styles were introduced.

3) Industry news.

Also, as of March 14th, 2021, TDF-accredited vendors are no longer allowed to link to "pages that promote dolls that are disallowed at TDF", including their own shop websites. This is a historical milestone. Additionally, numerous pictures by popular photographers like Mizuwali (e.g. Piper Doll) and Mandos (WM Dolls) habe been dissaproved by TDF management.
