Weekly summary 26/2020

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 26th week of 2020, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Novel Coronavirus situation.

On Saturday June 27th, the total number of confirmed cases with the Chinese virus exceeded 10,000,000 worldwide. On the same day, the number of deaths exceeded 500,000 worldwide.

On June 26th, the highest number of daily new infections ever was recorded (+194,190 new cases).

Epicenters of the remain more or less the same as last week (U.S., Brazil, India; followed by Russia, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia).

Compared to the current epicenters, the situation in Europe and mainland China is relatively quiet.

Contrary to what we were hoping, freight costs for dolls from China to the U.S. slightly increased again. Freight costs from China to Europe are relatively stable, but shipping still takes much too long.

2) New arrivals.

This week, three new heads were introduced:

• SE Doll ›Olivia‹ head (no. 22) - TPE
• Sino-doll S34 head aka ›Megan‹ - silicone
• Xycolo ›Vala‹ head (XC no. 14) - silicone

Also, two new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: SE Doll SE-156/E aka ›Olivia‹ (= SED081) - TPE / ~156 cm / ~28 kg
• New arrivals: Sino-doll SI-160/E body style - silicone / 160 cm / 34 kg
