Z-Onedoll options - the complete listing

11) Toe nails.

Similar as the finger nails; there are currently 10 choices (ZO website: 9 choices). The nails are made of plastic and are being glued onto the silicone.

The most neutral finger nails are option #7 in the picture above.

Please note that the ZO website uses different numbers:

When placing an order, please attach the image with the numbering scheme you are using to avoid confusion.

Again, there is no option for a style like "Pink French manicure", but of course you can paint those toe nails with nail paint from the drugstore.

All toe nail options are included in the base price.

The same considerations in regard to length and sharpness of the edges apply as for the finger nails.

12) Skeleton.

There are two choices available in regard to the skeleton:

• default skeleton, or
• skeleton with standing option.

The first one is included in the base price, the standig skeleton is charged extra.

This is how the soles of the feet of a doll with the standing option will look like:

These bolts is not very pretty, but they work (very) well. So you need to decide if you rather want beautiful feet, or a standing doll.

The standing option is recommended for dolls between 110 cm and 160 cm, but, as mentioned earlier, also available on special request for the ZO-162 and the heavyweight ZO-170 which now specified with a weight of 49 kg (!)

The more adventurous you feel, the heavier your standing doll may be. But if you want that it works reliably, trust in the recommendations by Z-Onedoll and do not choose the standing options for the ZO-162 and her big sister ZO-170.

13) Vagina.

There are currently two choices; similar to TPE dolls, the vagina can be

• either built in (fixed),
• or insert (removable) with an exchangable insert:

Both look "almost the same" from the outside.

The interesting part here is that Z-Onedoll recommends the built-in vagina in their FAQ although they state that inserts are easier to clean.

14) Pubic hair style.

By default, all Z-Onedolls are shipped without pubic hair ("shaven").

For those who like their ladies with a bush, there are eight pubic hair styles available:

15) Real eye brows.

New we are getting to the less common options…

By default, eye brows are painted (no extra charge for that) - the same way as most other silicone dolls are currently manufactured.

For an extra charge, Z-Onedoll offers that the eye brows can be made of "real" hair; this expensive option is also called natural eye brows.

If you want a doll with luxury features, you might want to consider this option.

The "intelligent" features by Z-Onedoll.

As was mentioned elsewhere, Z-Onedoll stands for "intelligent" doll as "Z" is the first letter of "intelligence" in Chinese. That wording about "intelligence" shows up everywhere on the Z-Onedoll site - and it confuses almost everybody from western countries.

Obviously, Z-Onedolls does not have a gynoid or fembot (yet), as we know them from movies like 'Ex Machina' or TV shows like 'Almost Human'. What they refer to as "intelligence" has nothing to do with organic or artificical intelligence as this term is used in western countries. I think, the best way to describe what the Z-Onedoll intelligence referrs to is a vision. The goal is to make a 智力 (zhìlì) doll. Z-Onedoll is not there yet. At the moment, you can not play chess with your Z-Onedoll as she does not have a brain for that.

However, if you interpret the Z-Onedoll intelligence not as a (possibly misleading) marketing claim, but as a one-word summary for a vision, you will notice that some isolated technological pieces start to make sense. This is not about Turing tests, but about making life-less dolls more human-like. Progress in this directions happens in small pieces, and with Z-Onedoll, you can start your encounter with the future right now - and not in two decades, when other doll makers might showcase their full-featured gynoid.

So, to state this clearly: When you buy a current Z-Onedoll with the basic or the more advanced "intelligent" features, you will not get Ava from 'Ex Machina'. But you will get the closest thing currently on the market.

16) Basic "I" (intelligent) features - Body heating and audio replay.

By default, all Z-Onedolls come without any electronics ("No heating or sound").

Optionally, they are all (!) available with

• a) Heating and sound, or
• b) only Heating.

Body heating works similar as provided by some other doll makers like Mechadoll for years. Connected to a power supply, the body temperature can be increased up to 37°C (98.7°F), the body temperature of a human. Getting the doll to this temperature will take some time, and after she reaches body temperature, heating powers down and she will stay warm for a while. For sex and cuddling, this makes a real difference as the doll just feels more life-like.

The Sound feature means that sensors embedded into the doll try to capture certain interactions with the doll. If you slap the breasts, the doll starts to moan. Basically that's it.

For some of the Z-Onedoll models, these basic "intelligent" feature do not even increase the price at all, or the extra charge is rather small. However, there is a downside. As the FAQ states: "The heads of intelligent dolls with heating or sound can’t be changed, otherwise, the intelligent function will be lost."

In the dolls that are actually shipped, this control panel might look different; there might be just some buttons on the back of the head, poking throught the silicone.

Obviously, as electronics are involved, you need to be very carefull when showering such a doll.

17) Advanced "I" (intelligent) features - Robotics & animatronics.

Now to the latest, most advanced and - currently - also most limited configuration option, the integration of robotics and electronics. This option was publicly unveiled on September 1st, so I have not seen this in real yet. However, from someone who has seen a prototype a while ago I know that it looks amazing in real.

What I could gather in various postings are the following features:

• The doll can blink with the eye lids;
• the doll can move her eyes;
• the mouth can move; and
• there is a "chatting mode to talk with the doll".

The "chatting mode" is currently only available in Chinese, so it needs to be seen if and which other languages will be supported and what kind of chats will be possible.

The eye, eye lid and mouth movements are enabled through servo motors, so an energy source is required, and there is probably some noise involved. The functions are controlled through an app for the Android operating system; so far, we don't know how the app communicates with the doll.

According to this mockup, the app will also allow to control body heating.

These advanced features are at the moment only available in head A21. This is head A21:

You need to look a bit closer, but the effect is awesome. The head becomes more alive than any other production-ready doll I have ever seen.

Z-Onedoll charges quite some money for these features; a fully equipped doll with all currently available bells and whistles costs currently USD 4900 and the estimated production time is about 20-30 days.

Now we're getting to the final options that relate to the completed doll.

18) Packaging.

Z-Onedoll offers two methods of packaging:

• a) By default, the doll is shipped in carton box, similar to the one used for TPE dolls;
• b) alternatively, the can can be shipped in a flight case.

The flight case option is charged extra. It might help to avoid shipping damages, but it also makes handling of the shipment more complicated as these boxes are rather massive. I will show the flight case in more detail in a later posting.

The flight case option is worth consideration if you need something to permanently store your doll.

19) Hanging options.

Until Z-Onedoll comes up with additional customization options like articulated fingers, option no. 19 is the last choice you need to make during the ordering process.

There are two different hanging options available:

a) Neck Hook:

The neck hook is an eye bolt welded onto an M16 thread. It goes, as the name indicated, into the neck instead of the head.

This option is available for "non-intelligent" silicone dolls, meaning: all Z-Onedoll ladies with removeable head.

b) Back Hook:

The back hook is an eye bolt that is screwed into the back.

This option is available as well for "intelligent" as for "non-intelligent" dolls, meaning: the head can remain on the body to use this hook.

The downside of both hanging options is that both are not designed for long term storage or permanent display. As of now, a Z-Onedoll on display needs to sit on something as standing is also not recommended for extended periods of time.

Z-Onedoll reduced the number of available skin tones from four to three.

Before (two competing naming schemes):

• a) "Coffee", "Natural", "Pink", and "White" - or-
• b) "Normal", "Tan", "Coffee", and "White".

Now:

• Just "White", "Normal", and "Tan"
